Asking For What You Want for Bottoms
Do you ever struggle to communicate your preferences in rope? Can you imagine what a bottom led labbing session would look like? Whether you are a seasoned bottom or a new to the scene, you will learn exercises that will help you increase somatic awareness, negotiate, and advocate for adjustments.
You will learn how to
-
Vet the person you are tying with
-
Lead negotiations as a bottom
-
Get clear on and express what you want
-
Ask for the scene you want
-
Clarify your placement preferences (ex. waist rope or hip rope, adjusting ankle cuff placement and futo upline attachment)

Desirability Politics, Anti-Fatness, and Rope Bottoming
This class is for fats, friends, and allies. We will delve into meaningful discussions on the origins of Fatphobia and Weight Stigma, exploring the thin ideal, beauty, aesthetics, and how all of this fits into the rope scene. Through lecture, exercises, and discussion, we will navigate the complexities of desirability politics, challenge anti-fat narratives in the scene, and celebrate diversity in the realm of rope bottoming.
Bottoms, riggers, switches and self-tiers, you are all welcome! Please keep in mind this is bottoms-centered content, and discussions will aim to explore rope from the perspective of the rope bottom.

While not in rope, Violet works in the mental health field as a therapist with fellow queer and neurodivergent folks, with a focus on health at every size and weight neutrality.
Class Etiquette
- Many etiquette items are covered in the Code of Conduct (we worked really hard on it, so give it a read)
- The class is a casual event, so please wear what you feel comfortable in. For models tight fitting clothes or just not much clothing is the easiest to tie in. For riggers, make sure your clothing does not restrict your mobility in any way.
- We suggest you to be barefoot or wear shoes on the dance floor to prevent slipping (not just socks).

- NEVER let money be the reason you don’t come. We are still working out how we want to do a scholarship ticket program, but if you have a deep commitment to learn and share rope but not the financial means to attend this class, please email us so we can see how we can help.
